Legend Rare Coin Auctions Auction The Final Premier Session 2018 Dec-2018 FROM THE SAND HILL COLLECTION. This is a lovely, CHOICE example of the first year of Christian Gobrecht's Seated Liberty design. The first type, struck for just two years, is, in many numismatists' opinion, more elegant and better proportioned than the later with stars on obverse type. Smooth and generally defect free, this wonderful CHOICE example is fully lustrous and dusted with just the slightest touch of iridescent toning. The eye appeal is very high end for the assigned grade. PCGS 63, NGC 50, CAC 3. NO CAC coin has ever sold in auction before. Speaking to its quality, this coin realized $2,820 in a November 2013 auction, before it was CAC-approved. Today's Collector's Universe value is listed at $2,150 and we know that this coin will sell for more than that when the hammer falls. Cert. Number 28148892 PCGS # 4561
