Legend Rare Coin Auctions Auction The Regency Auction 29 Nov-2018 A SUPERB J-888, the FINEST graded by PCGS and a real prize for the Pattern collector! This is an R-5 (31-75 minted) Standard Silver quarter. Capped head of Liberty with 3 stars. Standard Silver agricultural wreath reverse. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Ultra high end quality with deep beaming mirrors that gleam from all over. They are bold and watery giving the wonderful toning a great backlit affect when viewed in a light. Wonderful, rich, totally original toning from old paper envelope storage. You cannot find a single flaw with the naked eye and the quality holds up under close inspection. PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 2. This coin does not appear to have sold in auction previously and there are no recent records for the NGC-graded coin. If you are working on a collection of SUPERB Pattern type coins, know this, this coin is finer than the Simpson coin, which is the finest collection of patterns ever assembled. Cert.
