Legend Rare Coin Auctions Auction The Regency Auction 32 May-2019 Ex Magnificent Morgans, as noted on the insert. Despite a huge mintage of 9,774,000, very few survive ins SUPERB GEM grades, unlike the San Francisco Mint issues of 1879-1882. Blast white and sharply struck, there is a bold, rolling cartwheel luster that beams brilliantly on both sides, particularly on the reverse. The surfaces are clean with zero contact marks of any consequence to be seen anywhere, even with a strong glass. Even the cheek is clean and frosty, imparting a bold eye appeal. PCGS 35, NGC 31. The current Collector's Universe price is $10,000 and we sold the most recent example for $7,931 in our July 2018 Regency Auction. Just three coins are graded higher, 2 in 67+ and 1 in 68, making this 78-S is a great coin for any Registry Set. Cert. Number 34029830 PCGS # 7082
