Legend Rare Coin Auctions Auction The Regency Auction 30 Jan-2019 Ranking at the apex of the Population Report, this MS68 quarter is tied for FINEST with just a single coin. Both sides have a satiny brilliant sheen, the fields are frosty and gorgeously toned. Rainbow bands at the peripheries frame the icy, periwinkle-teal iridescent centers. Generally well struck throughout. A very powerful loupe does reveal a few tiny marks, mostly hidden by the wonderful toning, and do not detract from the great eye appeal. As a contender for FINEST KNOWN, this beauty will fit into any upper tier PCGS Registry Set. PCGS 2, NGC 7. Neither PCGS coin has sold in auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $15,000. A similarly rare issue is the MS68 1967 (Pop: 1/0) which sold for $8,813 in January 2017 or the 1968 MS68 (Pop: 7/0) realized $9,400 in September 2013. A perfect example for a #1 PCGS set. Good luck!
