This variety shows the spelling of all relevant words with V instead of U. Thus, GEORGIUS becomes GEORGIVS, UTILE becomes VTILE, and DULCI becomes DVLCI. Apparently, only one example is known in Proof, that being the former Garrett - Ford example illustrated above. Some researchers consider this a pattern coin; others consider it an off-metal strike in copper. The circulation strike version of this coin is listed as PCGS #108.
