Ron Guth:

The 1860-O was the last Quarter Dollar struck at the New Orleans Mint until 1891. At 388,000 coins, the mintage for this year was about average -- nowhere near as high as the 1854-O and 1857-O, but above the 1855-O and 1859-O. Mint State examples are slightly scarce, but plentiful enough to be affordable. The best example tops out at MS66. This date is fairly well struck, though it is not unusual to see weakness on some of the stars and the denticles.
