Jaime Hernandez: The 1937 Doubled Die Obverse Quarter is the second scarcest major doubled die variety for the entire Washington quarter dollar series. Only the 1943 doubled die quarter is tougher to find from all of the five major doubled die varieties in the Washington quarter dollar series.

The doubling is very strong in the motto "In God We Trust." There is also doubling on the date but not as dramatic as in the motto of "In God We Trust."

A small percentage of this variety exist in Mint State grades. However, most coins of this variety exist in circulated condition, with most of them being in the Very Fine grades.
