The 2005 $50 Uncirculated Platinum Eagle has a considerably lower mintage than most other $50 uncirculated platinum eagles in the series. However, since the U.S. Mint produced many other different platinum eagles over the years and in different finishes, the lower mintage status of the 2005 $50 Platinum Eagle is somewhat unnoticed. And prices for the coins fetch about the same or very close to other common issues in the platinum eagle series.
Most 2005 $50 Uncirculated Platinum Eagles were produced in nice quality and examples in MS69 appear to be the norm. Perfect MS70 examples are considerably scarcer.
