Jaime Hernandez:

The 2007 Washington Dollar was the first proof Presidential Dollar design in the Presidential Dollar Series.

The date, inscriptions in God We Trust and E Pluribus Unum were placed on the edge of the coin. Proof coins have the edge inscriptions struck onto the coins edge by a segmented three part collar die, unlike circulation strike Presidential Dollars which have the edge inscriptions applied on the edge by a Schuler Edge Lettering Machine.

First Strike: Coins submitted to PCGS within the first 30 days of the release date qualified to receive a First Strike designation on the PCGS holder.
