The Corso Collection - The Number One Finest Jefferson Nickels Circulation Strikes (1938-1964)
A 2002 Award Winner for Best Modern Set
Only four coins in this award-winning set lack the Full Step designation. That means that 67 coins or 95% of the set are Full Step. The Corso Collection boasts a set rating of 65.89 and includes a large percentage of "Pop Tops" as well as the highest graded 1938-S, 1941-S, 1942 Type 1, and 1946-S. After looking at this awesome set, there is no doubt that the award presented to this collector is well-deserved. Congratulations! Click here to enjoy.

ATTENTION YOUNG NUMISMATISTS! Many YNs have requested a way to identify each other in the Set Registry. Now you can. If you are 18 or under and would like a new YN icon by your set, just go into administration and click YES for YN and validate your set or e-mail [email protected] and we'll take care of it for you.

The 2002 PCGS Set Registry Awards winners were announced and are now posted on the Awards page. Click here to read the results. Congratulations to all award winners and Hall of Fame inductees.

Last week the preview for the Walking Liberty Half dollars weighting was posted on the Set Registry News Page. Previews of proposed weighting are posted for at least a week prior to actually making the changes. This is allowing registrants time to review the changes and submit feedback. Last Friday, the weighting for the Franklin Half dollars went live. This week the Jefferson nickel weighting will go live. Indian cents and Proof Sets 1936-2001 are coming up in the weighting queue. Your opinion counts, so please let us hear from you before we add weighting to the sets.

Fun, informative, and sometimes controversial, the PCGS Set Registry Messageboard remains the number one coin forum on the Internet. Collector's Survey
What, in your opinion, is the greatest coin in the world? We're going to be chauvinists and limit the selection to U.S. coins (but over 90% of the votes would be for U.S. coins anyway). Here are five great choices and we hope that your favorite is among them.
  1. The 1933 $20, of course!
  2. The Childs 1804 silver dollar in PCGS PR68.
  3. The 1913 Liberty Nickel in PCGS PR66.
  4. Judd 1776. The $20 St. Gaudens Pattern known as "Teddy's coin" is unique, incredibly beautiful and priceless.
  5. The two gold "Half Union" $50 gold pieces of 1877. They're both in the National Collection at the Smithsonian.

Our Readers Ask

Question: How can one tell the difference between 1965/1966 and 1967 SMS Jefferson nickels and the regular issue of the same dates?

Answer: The SMS issues will have a Proof-like finish. The deepest SMS coins will look just like Proofs.
