More than 200 years after his death, George Washington continues to fascinate the American public. Even during his life, numerous coins, tokens, and medals were made to honor this great American patriot. This Basic Set captures the wonderful variety of numismatic items that are considered to be part of the U.S. "Colonial" era. Some of them circulated, some did not. Some were made overseas for sale to collectors or for use in America, others were made right here on our own soil. A portrait of George Washington (in some form or fashion) appears on every single coin in this set and the variety of different designs makes this one of the most popular and interesting sets in our Registry.
