About This Set: Just a few notes before I retire this set, which I sold on July 31, 2008. This set was assembled in the early and mid-1990's. It consisted of all nine coins, all of which displayed vivid pastel colors - green, lavender, pink, gold, blue, etc. For the entire tenure of this set in the set registry, it was far and away the premiere red-brown matte proof Lincoln set in existence. In fact I think it's fair to say that this set and my passion for them popularized “toner” red-brown matte proof Lincoln cents, and in fact was significantly responsible for the money that beautiful red-brown matte proof Lincoln cents command today. In the end, I decided to take that money, as I have other financial priorities. When I sold this set, all nine coins were still in the old green holders in which they were first slabbed. Some of the coins changed hands four times the weekend they were sold. Many will be cracked out and receive higher grades. I hope their new owners enjoy them as much as I miss them now. Tim.
