About This Set: BOTBOTW: One of the most "challenging PO01" coins in this set has to be the "1878 8TF PO01" PCGS graded (12/12/10). What makes this coin such a challenge was the fact that as a 1878 8TF Morgan dollar it also boost at least (5) VAM markers on the reverse side. Discovered in late 2010 it went to the graders twice before it was confirmed a 1878 8TF PO01 VAM wanna-be Morgan dollar. Tail & Wing feathers were basically all that was left. This 1878 8TF Morgan dollar had been hidden away since 1948 so all the wear seen on this coin was done within the first seventy years after being struck. Not to be overlooked is this well worn 1893-CC PO01 Morgan dollar, a pivotal coin in the Morgan dollar Basic & Variety, Carson City and Date set(s). This next Morgan dollar was another recent discovery and became the first 1878-S PO01 PCGS graded (10/20/2011). There is even a 1882-O/S VAM-4 "Strong" PO01 taking a break and resting up within this set. What are the odds for a VAM PO01 being graded? Extremely low I suspect. After all the 1878 8TF PO01 was not abled to be attributed but at least confirmed as a PO01. Lots of history and stories tied up in these well traveled coins. What is left to say about the only "Denver" mint 1921 PO01 helping to complete this set? A perfect ending to a perfect start this set has it all. Thank you for your interest in this truly unique Low Ball Morgan Dollar set. Created: 08/13/2011 - Last update: 06/18/2012
