About This Set: BOTBOTW: One of the latest and most interesting discoveries was the 1878 7/8TF "Strong" PO01 Morgan dollar. A challenge posted some seven years ago to find such a coin and this one showed up late in 2010 in a melt bucket. The coin was originally sent to PCGS in 02/2011 and then to ANACS and then afterwards back to PCGS twice before it graded a 1878 7/8TF "Strong" PO01. Many more miles were logged onto this coin before it stopped here in this set. Another one of the Morgan dollars is the 1883-CC PO01 dollar. All Carson City PO01s are fairly difficult to find since most were saved and then released in the GSA sales in the mid to late 1960s and early 1970s. The 1896-O PO01 is yet another equally challenging graded PO01 coin. This 1898-S PO01 Morgan dollar coin fits nicely in this mint mark set as well. The last coin a 1921-D PO01 is also a rather elusive and difficult coin at times to find. It is the only year that the Denver mint struck Morgan dollars for this series and can be a very challenging missing PO01 graded dollar for any mint mark set. Thank you for your interest in this truly unique set. Published: 01/29/2012 - Last update: 06/03/2012
