1856 $3 MS64 Certification #21405105, PCGS #7974
Satiny cartwheel lustre, darker gold coloring around the devices on obverse and reverse.Honey gold coloring in the fields. This is one of the better struck 1856 $3.00's
David Akers (1975/88)The 1856 is only moderately scarce as a date, but strictly uncirculated specimens are definitely rare, more so than those of 1855, a date that has received some acclaim in recent years as a rarity. Most specimens that I have seen are softly struck on the headdress and hair curls.
