This is a very rare Pioneer gold issue. I recently examined the Smithsonian example (through a plexi-glass display case) and I believe the grade is 55, maybe even 58. This would make it a condition census example. The coin came from the Lilly collection, as did most of the great Pioneer gold coins in the Smithsonian collection.
