1897-O 10C AU55 Certification #09492386, PCGS #4813

Owner's Comments

This coin is nearly impossible to locate in AU as evidenced by the nearly two and a half years it took to locate. This example was located by Glenn Holsonbake at a fifty table show in Southern California. Glenn found it while looking at another dealer's inventory. That dealer had acquired it from one of his regular customers just a couple of days earlier. The coin is an old green holder and was owned by the previous collector for many years. It has tangerine toning off the rims and into the fields, with an abundance of underlying luster. The obverse also has a touch of pearl iridescence surrounding the date and through America. It is the prize of this collection. Total PCGS AU population is 18, with 9 in AU55 and only two graded higher. The BCCS rating is R5.
