The 1904 Half Dollar has a wonderfully small mintage of a mere 670 Proofs.  Most of the surviving examples clock in at PR63 and PR64, but there are ample Gems to satisfy collector demand and keep the prices affordable.  Like the 1901 to 1903 dates, the 1904 Half Dollar is virtually unknown as a Deep Cameo (again, if they exist at all).  Cameo examples represent less than 10% of the total population, indicating that examples with contrast between the frosty devices and the brilliant fields remain elusive.
