One Dollar Gold, Proof (1859-1889)
This set includes the final 41 years of issue for the Type Three gold dollar Proofs. While it doesn’t include the 1856-58 issues, that doesn’t mean that the set isn't filled with rarities. “Sleepers” (unappreciated rarities) of the set include the 1871, 1873 and 1874, while the 1875 is a recognized classic. This series is collectible (but just barely) and relatively affordable considering the extreme rarity of some of the dates. Are you ready for the challenge?
Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
