About This Set:
The allure of the famed Carson City Mint is widespread in the coin collecting community. Add to that the romantic appeal of the "Old West", the intrigue of gold, the frequently asked "What tales could that well worn coin tell?", and you have the often attempted but seldom completed set known as the Carson City Gold Set! It consists of just 57 coins and is full of both date and condition rarities. The first gold coins struck at Carson City were the $10 pieces known as eagles on February 14, 1870. Next were the $5 half eagles on March 2, 1870 and followed later in the month with the $20 double eagles. Will we ever complete this intriguing set? Only time will tell. Enjoy your visit and thanks for stopping by, Jimmy & Eileen
