As with the regular circulation strike twentieth century type set, this one is also very popular with collectors. This adds the variations (VDB Lincoln cents, Type 1 Buffalo nickels, etc.) to the mix, making completion a little more difficult, but still easily accomplished. Collectors have long praised the early designs as some of the most attractive of all United States coinage. Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, Standing Liberty quarters, and Walking Liberty half dollars represent the pinnacle of twentieth century coinage design and are widely collected series. With the type variations, this set makes a great display, both visually and as an educational tool. Since many older collectors remember spending most of these issues, their connection with the past is particularly significant.
