Low Hanging Fruit

"I like IKE" became the campaign theme in 1951 as then General Eisenhower won his party's nomination for president. Many still do like IKE as hundreds now collect this classic dollar coin in one form or another. President Richard Nixon, who served as Eisenhower's VP, signed legislation on New Years Eve 1970 - authorizing this new "IKE" dollar coin, which was the first dollar coin struck since the end of the Peace dollar series in 1935.

Dwight D. Eisenhower served two terms as POTUS (1952-1960). He was also the Supreme Commander of the European Theatre during WWII, making him one of the highest military/political leaders Five Star Generals in American history.
