While Proof Morgan Dollars are certainly available, the same cannot be said for Peace Dollars. Proof Peace Dollars are rarities of the highest order. Struck in Matte Finish in only two years (1921 and 1922), fewer than a dozen of each date are known. In the Circulation Strikes, many of the "S" mint dates in the series are surprisingly difficult in high grade. For some dates (1925-S) MS-65 is the highest grade available. For most other "S" mints, MS-66 populations are under ten pieces. Make no mistake – in high grade, this is a VERY tough (and expensive) set to put together.
