In 1995, a series of three coins were issued to promote the Preservation of Civil War Battlefields. As usual, a half dollar, a silver dollar and a $5 gold piece were released. The gold piece was struck at West Point, the half dollar at San Francisco, and the dollar at both Philadelphia (for the Mint State strike) and San Francisco for the Proof.
