So now I am down to the last two coins of the Walking Liberty series:

The 1919-D and 1921-S. Both conditional rarities in mint state.

A further add. The 1919-S in MS 64. This was an attempted cross from CACG, which was graded also in MS 64. Surprised that it didn’t rate at least a MS 64+ from PSGC. A nice coin, - plenty of luster and very white.

Added the 1918-D with a very blast white tone in MS64. 1918-D is one of those coins where the price jump between MS64 and MS65 is huge.

Added the 1936-S in MS66+ - which for some reason I never purchased looking for the optimum quality/ value.

Also the semi key 1917-D reverse in MS65. Ex- Hansen collection with nice luster and toning. No CAC but a very worthy example.

Add the 1920-D in MS65. A sleeper, tough to find Walker in gem state. Some minor obverse toning around the edges. Ex-Dakota collection. No CAC but purchased for $10K under PGCS book so happy with purchase.

New purchase from recent Stack Bowers auction, the 1917-S reverse mint mark in MS 65 with CAC.

Bright white and nice luster. Strike a bit weak on liberty’s head and thumb.

Tough one - the 1921 slot. MS 65 graded PCGS is a $30000 plus purchase so I ‘won’ a NGC MS 65 and tried to cross. Unfortunately it graded MS 64+ at PCGS. Like the coin, of course I’m not happy with the result.

Add to the set with the 1917-S obverse mint mark. Nice and white, graded MS-64 with CAC. Just couldnt justify moving up to MS-65 with this coin - too expensive.

Picking away at some of the ’less expensive’ want list coins.

1917 P in MS66 with CAC from Great Collections auction. 1934-D in MS66 with CAC from Pinnacle Rarities.

Beautiful coins! I really like the strikes!

Added the 1934-S in MS 66 with CAC. The fields are near proof like, very clean looking and high end Walker. On par or better than most rated MS 66+ and I may try re-submitting to PCGS for a MS 66+ grading. This completes my Walker date set where I am rated #3 in the standings.

Also same auction the double die reverse 1946 in MS66 with CAC sticker.

Purchased the 1923-S in MS 65+ in the last Legends auction. Ex-Sommelier collection. Good deal and a hard to find date.

Purchased the 1918 in MS65 with CAC at the Legends Auction. Nice coin, difficult to find untoned examples.

Filled the 1928-S slot last week with a brilliant MS 65, no CAC. Personally I consider it a beautiful coin, the strike is weak on Liberty’s hand, which is standard for this date. Ran across this coin at a new auction house, they had a great selection of hard to get Walkers.

I picked up one of the 'harder' dates last week - a 1921-D in MS64+ with CAC sticker. Usually these sell at quite a premium to book at auction and I am reluctant to go that high on a coin. But it was the weekend after Harvey went through Houston and Irma was approaching Florida - so many of the usual buyers had more important matters at hand and my bid went through.

This collection is nearing the point where the 'easy' coins have been acquired and what is left are the harder to find, more expensive examples which represent major purchases. So I expect the pace of new purchases to slow down considerably.
