Chapman - Classic Cents

About This Set: From the early days, trying to find a suitable example to slot into my Dansco 7070 Type Set, I have been enamored with this design. The date I wanted was 1809 which, as it turns out, is one of the hardest cent dates to find nice, period. Well, maybe 10 years ago I was offered an 1809 in OGH 55 and WHOA! What an example it is! From there I have strived to find all the coins in this series in EAC AU which just isn’t an easy task. Ultimately I have ended up with several mint-state graded pieces, at least a couple of which are actually EAC MS. Today, the challenge remains as great as ever. Only the 1811/0 is virtually unavailable in EAC AU, as the only piece to my knowledge is a PCGS AU58 which to me looks a lot like a 50. Regardless, I truly enjoy each and every one of these coins, as they are a delight to behold.
