About This Set: The "Lincoln Cents Basic Set, Proof (1950–1958)" is a concise and highly popular nine-coin collection of all proof Lincoln Wheat Cents produced in the post-World War II era. This set represents the final years of proof striking for the original "Wheat Ears" reverse design, which was retired in 1959. This set includes one brilliant proof coin for each of the nine consecutive years that proofs were struck during the 1950s. All coins in this set were produced at the Philadelphia Mint and feature the distinctive mirror-like finish highly prized by collectors.
