Aluminum US Patterns

Description: While patterns and trial pieces were struck in various metals, I find Aluminum most appealing for their novelty and look. Many of these patterns struck using regular dies of the year and now widely accepted to be provided for the sole pleasure of a handful of collectors in the 1860 's & 70's & 80's - most had and inside connections to the mint employee's and officials.
