Incorporating mintmarked issues naturally more than doubles the requirements of this set, and provides two additional rarities in addition to the Draped Bust Small Eagle dates of 1796-97 and the inaugural issue of 1794. First, is the incredibly rare 1853-O, without arrows and rays. Only four examples of this coin are known, and all four have seen considerable circulation. The other major rarity is the 1878-S of which approximately fifty pieces have survived out of an original mintage of 12,000 coins. Aside from these, the other dates and mints can be found with some searching, though the CC dates in the early 1870s may require some patience.
