Today, we know the Sommer Islands as Bermuda. Although not a part of the modern-day United States, this was a British colony, hence the coins have been included in the U.S. Colonial series. Sommer Island coins are also known as "Hogge Money" because of the porcine image on the front of each coin. All of the coins are very rare. Condition is always an issue, as the copper metal did not fare well in the salty environment of this island nation, thus finding examples that qualify for certification is difficult. This is a small set of only four coins, but the rarity of the Threepence makes this a particularly challenging endeavor.
