Rosa Americana and Hibernia Coinage with Major Varieties and Patterns (1722-1724)
We’ve boosted the size of the Basic Set (and the difficulty and challenge of completing it) with the addition of several interesting varieties, plus the rare pattern issues of 1722, 1724, and 1733. There are really two sub-sets here: the Rosa Americanas and the Hibernias. Rarities in the Rosa series include the undated Twopence without a scroll (or ribbon) beneath UTILE DULCI, the 1722 Halfpenny with VTILE DVLCI, the 1723 Halfpenny with an uncrowned rose, any of the 1724 dated coins, and the 1733 Twopence Pattern. Hibernias, not to be outdone, include a 1722 Halfpenny Pattern with rocks on the right side of the obverse and silver versions of the 1723 Farthing and Halfpenny. Starting this set is easy, thanks to the many inexpensive varieties. Start yours today!
