Massachusetts coins are known for their generally high quality and uniformity, thus there are only a few major varieties to add to the Basic Set. The rarest of the varieties is the "Right Arrows" (also known as "Transposed Arrows") in which the eagle clutches the arrows in its right talon (the viewer’s left). The popular "Horned Eagle" variety features a die break that connects the eagle’s head with part of the outer legend. In 1788, Cents were made with and without a period after MASSACHUSETTS. The good news – there are only seven coins in this set. There is no bad news – just an extreme challenge in locating an example of the Transposed Arrows!
