1873 Proof Set with Gold

This is a very difficult Proof set to complete because of the very limited mintage for the gold issues, just 20 were struck of each denomination, although the three-dollar coin has more with 20 Open 3 Originals struck, plus an unknown number of Closed 3 Proofs, some likely Restrikes. The copper and nickel issues are available, although in superb Proof condition, they are elusive, while the silver issues are all available, although in high demand with collectors. Because of the No Arrows and Arrows examples of the dime, quarter, and half dollar, this Proof set has been popular with collectors – although with the gold, this set becomes an even more attractive centerpiece of any collection.
