Modern Commemoratives Complete Set, Circulation Strikes and Proof (1982-present)

It's hard to believe that since the U.S. Commemorative Program was revived in 1982 that some 250 coins have been issued in both Mint State and Proof. Comprised mostly of silver half dollars, silver dollars and five dollar gold pieces, this set has proven to be very popular attracting over 100 Registry participants. As with most modern sets, some very high Set Ratings are possible, and most of the sets have weighted GPA's above 69. But only about half a dozen collectors have actually completed this set so far, so there is still room at the top for a dedicated collector. While all the coins can be found on today's market, the 1997-W Jackie Robinson $5 Gold piece, and the 2000-W Library of Congress bimetallic $10 piece in Mint State will prove to be the toughest, by virtue of their limited original mintage.
