1888 Mint Set with Gold

The 1888 Mint Set is one of the few sets from this period that contain no significant rarities or particularly difficult coins. The 1888-S Morgan is a slightly better date, and the Half and Quarter are from the "low mintage" period that lasted from 1879 to 1890. However none of these coins approach five figures, short of an MS-67 grade. The gold, like the silver and other minor coins, contain no major rarities. Of course, in top grade, any gold coin can get expensive. But in moderate MS grades, none of the coins from this year will be particularly difficult or expensive.
