In 1993, the Royal Australian Mint introduced the fine silver kangaroo dollar. This silver dollar has been produced every year since then. It has a purity of .999 and weighs one ounce. An image of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse. The reverse features a different design of a kangaroo every year.
