The so-called "Regal Style" first appeared on Indian coins in 1862, when the new designs showed Queen Victoria with a crown on her head (as opposed to the unadorned head of earlier years). Because this is a type set, it gives collectors an opportunity to show a wide range of coins over several regnal periods and over an interesting group of denominations. The really tough coin in this set is the gold Mohur, which has advanced rapidly in price in recent years.
