The nation's bicentennial celebration was reflected in the Proof Sets this year, with both Clad and 40% silver strikings of the Quarter, Half and Dollar. Each of these bore special reverses to mark the occasion, as well as dual dates (1776-1976) on the obverse. The Clad Eisenhower Dollar was struck with two different lettering styles on the reverse; Type One, with thicker lettering and Type Two, with sharper, thinner lettering. The Type One is slightly scarcer. As of this writing, no 1976-S PR70DC cents have been certified, but the other coins in the set are available.

Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
