The basic set of $2½ Liberty gold pieces is among the longest in all of numismatics. Now, by adding the varieties in this set, it’s even longer (more coins) and tougher to complete. The 1843-C Small Date is always scarce and popular, as are the reverse varieties of 1859, 1860 and 1861 and the ultra-famous and historic 1848 CAL. If you’ve gone far enough to complete the basic set you'll definitely want to add these significant varieties!
