This is the first small cent issued. In the opinion of most collectors it is also the most beautiful copper (or copper-nickel) coin ever struck. The Mint State set involves only five pieces, but each one is a classic. There's the rare and ultra-popular 1856, the oh-so-tough-to-locate overdate of 1858/7, and the three "common dates." A short set, yes, but one that can be a challenge as well, especially in MS65.
