RJP Ike set

About This Set: This set has been fun to complete and list here. But I will always have room for a upgrade. When I had bought my first designated CAM Ike I was a little confused about that description since the price guide lists only Deep Cams. After looking thru the population report I discovered that there were three different designations that have been used over the years. Take the 71-S proof for example, PCGS coin #7428, 87428 and 97428 are used. I think the 7428 number is for the old green holders (OGH) before the Cam (87428) and DCam (97428) were used But I guess if a really bad looking Ike went through the grading room it could still receive the 7428 number. And the price of certifacation today is not a good deal on a inexpensive coin, just to have a cameo designation on the holder. Make sure you check the coin certifcation number with PCGS and get what you pay for and want. So in RJP's coin album I will have the pictures of each of the coins, the set has increased to 56 from 29, coins with all of the numbers represented. I don't have a complete set put together yet, But I have found quite a few of them. I have a few Ikes also in rattlers and by the way the rattler number is 07428, all rattlers have the leading zero on the coin number. I have tried to buy the coins in older type holders that list the series and coin number. For the series 103 (MS) you have coin numbers 1-19 with 4A & B, 13A, and 14A for 23 coins. For the Proof series 103PR you have coins 1-7 with 3A, 4A, 5A & B for 22 coins in CAM and Deep Cam. And you can find 11 more coins without the CAM or Deep CAM designation (7 one of each date+coin #3A, #4A, #5A&B=11). I have now figured out more about the Ikes then I thought possible, for such a short set, I also bought the book. This is quite the coin adventure. Be sure to check out my coin album, I have allot of items in there that can't be put in sets. Have Fun, Bob
