1936-Present Mint Set with Major Varieties

This is a big set, and while as a simple Mint Set would pose no particular challenge, other than its sheer size, adding varieties adds a whole new dimension to the undertaking. Virtually all of the tough coins are varieties, and these include the 1958 Doubled Die Obverse Cent, 1969-S Doubled Die Cent, the 1936-D 3 1/2 Legged Nickel, and the 1992 Close AM cent. These incredibly rare coins make their far more common and popular cousins like the 1955 Doubled Die Cent, the 1937-D 3-Legged Nickel, the 1942/1 Dime and the 1937 Doubled Die Quarter pale in comparison. Despite its scope and the serious rarities in this set, two Set Registry collectors currently stand at the threshold of completion.
