Bought this coin at the Annual ANA Convention in Oklahoma City in August 2025. I certainly think this coin is a strong contender to grade PR01??? Here's a quick comparison; look at my 1896-S Barber Quarter in my Low Ball Set, PCGS graded PR01... WAY more details on the 1896-S Quarter graded PR01 than this coin!! Go figure....

The 1802 Dime is a very scarce coin in all grades, especially Mint State. The 1802 is very similar to the 1801 in terms of the number of survivors and the distribution of Mint State examples, all of which are at the low end of the scale. No choice or gem examples are known.

There are four varieties for this date, which is twice that of the 1801, thus some of the individual varieties are scarce to rare.

The finest examnples are a small group of MS62 examples. The price record for this date was set in 2008, when one of the PCGS MS62 examples sold for $138,000.
