1804 10C 14 Star Reverse XF40 Certification #60101756, PCGS #4475
Owner's Comments
Jr-2 purchased from the Argent group. 14 star reverse, one of only 14 grated by pcgs. And in the top 5 census at pcgs. A very rare dime. 1804 was the last dime needed to complete my date set. Slightly more rare than the 13 star variety.

This variety of the 1804 Dime features 14 stars on the reverse, an inexplicable error on the engraver's part since the 14th state (Vermont) joined the Union more than a decade earlier. The 1804 Dime has the lowest mintage of any of the Draped Bust Dimes, and both varieties are very rare in all grades. PCGS has certifed only nine examples of this variety, all in circulated condition. The finest example is an NGC MS63 that appeared on the market in 2013.
