Rarity 3 | Eckberg 2-C.

Obverse: Same die used for C-1. Features a closely spaced date with 809 punched in a nearly straight line; lower hair curl rests above the right tip of the 0, past the meridian of the 9. Extensive cracking develops in later states.
Reverse: Shared with 1809 C-3. Distinguished by the top leaf finishing slightly to the right of the edge of the S in STATES.

While the finest known is the ESM-Hansen coin in PCGS MS65BN, an intriguing PCGS MS62RB example with a provenance tracing back to the late 19th century is also noteworthy.
