1833 Classic Head Half Cent MS62BN
{ PCGS-3 } (Nov'2005)
Creamy chocolate brown surfaces uniformly cover this very attractive pre-Civil War half-penny with a slight die rotation. In this year Andrew Jackson was sworn in to the presidency of the United States.

The 1833 Half Cent is one of the more common of the Classic Head Half Cents. Only one die variety comprises the entire mintage for this year, so there is little tension between type and variety collectors that might run up the price of this date.
Hundreds of Mint State examples survive of this date, mostly in Brown or with traces of mint red. Red-Brown examples are approximately five times as rare as Brown examples, and full Red examples are 30-40 times as rare as Brown examples.
On the plus side, more MS66 examples exist of this date than any other Classic Head Half Cent, though they are rare indeed. The best example sis a single PCGS MS66RB.
