Owner's Comments
CAC green sticker. O-108, R-1. CAC population data (1/9/2022): 337 total, 66 on grade, 137 higher. Comments from Sheridan Downey MB 53 catalogue: Rich antique toning adorns the surfaces of this beautiful 1833. Copper, pale blue and turquoise provide an exquisite blend. Crisp dentils and a full motto are important for the issues of 1833. From Alpine Numismatics, October 2009. Formerly in collection of Tim Osborne.

The 1833 Half Dollar is a common date with a large mintage of over five million coins. Al Overton listed fifteen different varieties for this year, plus three distinct die states. Hundreds of Mint State examples exist, mostly in MS62, MS63, and MS64. A small handful of high-quality examples exist at the MS66 to MS67 levels, all led by a stunning PCGS MS68 example (one of the finest Capped Bust Half Dollars ever seen and one of only two PCGS MS68's in existence).
