Owner's Comments

1835 C-2 M 3.0 FDS 3 PCGS MS64RD EAC Grade MS63 According to auction listings from 2010 through 2024 on the PCGS web site, approximately 80% of 1835 half cents sold during that period and which were graded Red, were of the Cohen-1 variety. This Cohen-2 variety would be conditionally rarer than its sister variety and would be near the top ten Cohen-2 examples graded MS64RD or higher. This is a near gem example that has fully brilliant orange mint luster that shows only slight mellowing on each side. The strike is bold and only a few carbon flecks are evident, preventing a higher grade.
