Owner's Comments
O-106 (106.1); Attractive and original coin with bronze toning and very strong luster. The toning is unusual and yet dramatic in it's own way, changing color and appearance depending on the light. The obverse appears to have been partially covered with folded paper, a ribbon, or possibly tape of some kind. The resulting difference leaving an even diagonal band of lighter toning from s1 and s2, across the portrait and to s8 thru s10, and then another area the extends down perpendicular from the first, across the base of the bust, and encompassing the date, the curls and to s13. From my good friend John Calder.
