The 1844 Proof Half Dime is very rare in any condition. It's mintage is believed to be about 15 examples struck. This coin does not appear in the market often and it can be years before one is offered at auction. Collectors should not be picky when trying to find an example, as it might take a very long time to obtain one in any condition.
